Please do not turn this thread into guilting people for having their dying parents live in a professional facility.
If you never had a parent with extremely advanced dementia, subject to elaborate hallucinations and violence, you cannot judge.
Home care can become literally impossible under such circumstances, even with live-in nursing.
If your parents were able to live their lives out at home, good for them and you.
Don't judge others. Not all circumstances are the same.
