Witness a few live animal wagons and you know it's an uncomfortable transport method if longer than 30min. In the Alp village I live they brought in EU animal processing laws in 2022, that required new machinery and the locals can't afford it. So the animal processing center closed.
Also the workers have to be re-certified at great expense. I've witnessed this first hand.
Is it to decrease livestock or starve us.

Not really. Thanks for posting about Canada killing the ostriches. They took over the farm & killed birds, some as old as 35, by shooting them while they were penned. The owners were nearby and heard it all while police blocked them from their own land. The government is corrupt
